Credentials
I received my B.A. in Psychology from The University of California and M.A. and M.Ed. from Columbia University in New York City. At Columbia, my focus was Counseling and Culturally Responsive Therapy. After graduation I obtained my LMHC from the State of New York and currently practice therapy in New York City and Westchester.
I have done extensive post graduate trainings in Gestalt Therapy, Advanced Gestalt Therapy, Couples Therapy, Conflict Resolution and Somatic Experiencing. I am currently in the process of obtaining my SEP, which is a specialized training credential for working with trauma and anxiety through Somatic Experiencing.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a Managing Director at a large national education non-profit. I managed big teams and projects, and spent a lot of time coaching and developing senior leaders and managers. This work transformed my idea of what it means to support people holistically. It inspired me to begin my career as a therapist and continue my work as a coach.

- Senior Finance Professional, Hedge Fund, New York City -
“Amber is the perfect combination of an empathetic coach who also pushes you to see facets of your work and your leadership – both strengths and weaknesses – that you may otherwise miss. She also looked at the totality of the challenges in front of me – at work and at home as a mom of two kids under the age of 4, and this is something I deeply appreciated. She pushed me to be more courageous and move towards what I knew, based on my gut and on experience, were the right next steps in a complex situation. The thing that I appreciate most about Amber’s coaching is that it’s imminently practical and action-oriented – grounded in what you need at any given moment to get unstuck and make change.”

“Amber is a masterfully skilled coach. In my work with her, she asked great questions that helped me understand my strengths, listen to my instincts and become aware of my own thinking patterns that were holding me back. I appreciate the ways in which our coaching work helped me get clear and gain courage in my leadership.”
